Living in Singapore is generally very good, but it is certainly different from my native Scotland, and sometimes I get a bit homesick. This was written during one of those moments.
[Verse 1]
The time has come
But the time has gone
He's got to go away from here
And turn his back on the sun
Even though this place is grand
There's another place calling
Stranger in a stranger land
With a fear of falling
He's going home
[Verse 2]
He had a plan
But it failed to hatch
He tried to fit in place
But the pieces, they just didn't match
Even though he speaks the language
There's no communication
Just one look and he's classified
As from an alien nation
He's going home
[Chorus]
Home, by a mountain range
Home, where the seasons change
He can be with family
Where he longs to be
Home, where the spirits soar
Home. now forever more
No longer will he yearn to roam
He's going home
[Verse 3]
The echoes of a simpler past
Resound inside him
With the force of a trumpet blast
Making music in the park
With the local band
Seeing stars out after dark
And lovers holding hands
He's going home
[Chorus]
