Smokin' For Health

Can you imagine invading another country to divert attention from your own problems at home, and then saying that it is in the name of peace? Unfortunately, I can, and the idea of fighting for peace does not sit comfortably.
You sing a song
You sing a song but no one sings along with you
Except that little dog who follows, howlin' at your heels
You turn a key
You turn a key, but seems to me, you shouldn't do
Have you considered for one moment how the others feel?
There's a great pretense
But it makes no sense
Making war for peace, killing for religion
It takes some kind of twisted mind
To carry on this way
Making war for peace is like
Giving all your money away for wealth
Or smokin' for health
You have the might
You have the might but it's not right to fire the cruise
There was time to talk it over for a year or two
You had your sport
You had your sport, now you resort to subterfuge
Your motivation is in question
The whole world knows it's true
There's a great pretense
But it makes no sense
Making war for peace, killing for religion
It takes some kind of twisted mind
To carry on this way
Making war for peace is like
Giving all your money away for wealth
Or smokin' for health
